Room for London,
A temporary structure designed for the rooftop of the Queen Elizabeth Hall amidst the busy South Bank in London in collaboration with Price and Myers as part of an open competition.
A room rises and falls, revealing and concealing different views across the London skyline, changing the quality of light in the interior and giving access to its various facilities. A private, cosy interior dissolves as its rises culminating in a panoramic roof terrace. The occupants chose where within the container they want to rest: some will want privacy, others to be on show, some wake to the rising sun, hibernate to find some peace and stillness or enjoy city rhythms.
