Angela speaks about the #CECAS project –  A Centre of Excellence for Climate Action and Sustainability, which is a grass roots community project led by Green Skibbereen, in West Cork. The centre aims to lead the way in Retrofit research and development to showcase live projects to show how to lower energy use and source local materials and labour. It has links to schools of architecture and engineering in Cork City.
The  CECAS project will become a Knowledge Hub and Learning Centre that will spearhead the drive towards zero carbon in West Cork through education, advocation explanation and inspiration via events exhibitions, education, publications, monitoring and experimentation both physical and digital. CECAS will be a centre for facilitators to support Climate Action and a catalyst for science based solution to sustainable questions.
